Pictures from the wedding and the National Zoo
Aug 28–Sep 9 Toronto Visiting, Toronto Film Festival.
Jul 3–6 Anaheim AnimeExpo 2003.
This year, the expo had lackluster programming, probably due to its higher popularity. Or maybe I'm just more familiar with anime and so fewer shows are new to me. However, my friends came prepared with TVs, DVD players, game consoles, and of course, anime on CD and DVD, so we had a really nice private expo inside the hotel rooms. Oh, and next year we are definitely flying down instead of driving.

Jun 11–25 Toronto Visiting friends and family. More of the former, actually, because I was part of the Great Borisov Migration: while I was in Toronto, my sister went from Toronto to Moscow, and my father — from Moscow to England. But it was great to see friends, some of whom I hadn't seen in quite a long time, and hang out in my favourite Canadian city.

Jun 1–4 Victoria My mother had just moved to Victoria, and I came up for my first-time visit. Victoria turned out to be quite beautiful, and I look forward to spending Christmas there instead of Ottawa.
Apr 25–May 5 AmsterdamMy annual Queensday pilgrimage.
This year, we had a good-sized group successfully invade Paul's place. Also, Lenore was finally able to make it to this most-orange of holidays.

Dec 31–Jan 3 Glen Rock, NJ
New York, NY
New Year's party at Sarah's. This is the second time Kevin and I attempted such a thing; this time we had the bonus of having with us Andrea and gingerbread house. Reaffirming my dislike of driving, our trip involved a speeding ticket, a snowstorm, and a minor accident. Not to mention the excitement of losing the keys to the rental the day after. But the party was nice. And I got to experience my third mini-visit to New York — one of these days I will have to make a real visit.
Dec 18–Jan 7 Toronto, Ottawa Christmas break.
Nov 20–Dec 13 Australia This was a trip that was both too long and too short. We started off with going to Cairns to dive on the Great Barrier Reef. Then we embarked on a marathon car-avan trip from Sydney through Canberra, Melbourne, over the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide, and on to Ceduna, to see the total solar eclipse. Unfortunately, due to clouds, we were only able to see a short bit of totality. Then it was back to Adelaide, to relax, tour some wineries, and fly back to Sydney to explore for a few more days.

Apr 30–May 2 Amsterdam, Paris I used the winnings from the above trip to finance another trip to the Netherlands on Queen's day. Then I was convinced to take a day trip to Paris. :) This was an amazing weekend, and someday I will tell the story.
Apr 7–12 Eindhoven The World Finals of the ACM Programming Contest. Our team came in 7th.
Mar 19–28 Toronto, Ottawa My spring break vacation. This trip was scheduled before the last one. The combination of the two resulted in my spending (marginally) more than half of March in Canada.
Mar 2–7 Ottawa, Toronto I found out, on short notice, that I had to write my citizenship test in Ottawa on March 3rd. To obtain a cheap air fare, I had to stay in Canada over a Friday, so I stayed for the weekend and visited with friends around Toronto.
